Teaching Towards Writing to Think

I found the concept of "layering thinking and potential ideas" very interesting. I would consider this as always looking at our writing as rough drafts. Or potential for improvement. We can always go back and expand or revise. I would utilize this in the classroom by inviting my writers to go back on their writing and build it up another level. Look at it with a fresh pair of eyes and see how you can revise or even cut back.

I think it is important to "write like the best book you ever read". Style is important to a good book. It can be the deciding factor as to why we did not get into a book. If we as writers consider our favorite author's writing styles, I imagine a strong platform to build off of.
